Meet the PsoriaSiblings no one knew your patients had

Did you know plaque psoriasis (PsO) may be immunologically related to psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and gastrointestinal (GI) inflammation associated with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)?1-3

And, like siblings, they may show up uninvited—individually or together. For patients with PsA, there is a risk of irreversible joint damage, which may occur early in disease. As dermatologists, your role is critical in helping to identify PsA and IBD early in your patients with PsO.3-8

Related risk beyond the skin

Shared underlying systemic inflammation is what may link PsO to PsA and IBD.2,8

Symptoms are systemic and may be severe

Associated symptoms of PsA or IBD may be the key to recognizing early disease progression.9-11

SYMPTOMS to look for

Collaboration and comprehensive care are essential

Early intervention and connecting patients with a specialist may make a meaningful difference.8,12,13
